The Royal Crown Revue have been lying low since the Great Swing Crash of '99, but SoCal composer-instrumentalist Vinnie Santino lured them out to play on this oddity of a concept album: themes for TV cop shows that don't exist. Santino and RCR glide through 10 bottom-heavy and swank big-band jazz cuts that touch on fusion and retro-swing, but smoke like nothing you've heard on the tube.
